Most farm families have a succession plan.
Very few have had the conversation that actually makes it work.
Roughly 70% of farm transitions fail, not because of bad legal or tax advice, but because of bad conversations. Or no conversations at all.
Non-farming siblings are expected to be fine with the plan. Except nobody told them the plan.
I noticed this in myself recently. At a recent event I was making little references to being a non-farming sibling without even fully realizing it.
Patti Durand from Brightrack caught it right away and reached out afterward.
She said there are so many succession aspects around this that families never talk about. She was right.
So we sat down, myself, Patti, and Chris Corbett, and talked for an hour about what actually happens inside farm families when succession comes up. Not the legal stuff. Not the tax stuff. The human stuff.
Now we are bringing that conversation live.
The Three Questions You Haven't Asked Yet is a one hour live workshop on Tuesday April 21 at 9 AM SK time.
You will leave with a three question framework you can use at your own kitchen table this spring, a pre-work worksheet, and real perspective from people who have lived this from both sides.
This is the kind of conversation that is better to have before the seeder rolls than after.
Free to attend.
